Isa Bey Mosque

Isa Bey Mosque was built by the architect Syrian Ali son of Mushimish al Damishki for Aydinid Isa Bey between 1374 and 1375 during Anatolian beyliks. It is one of the most delicate examples of Seljukian architecture. Isa Bey Mosque was desgined asymmetrically unlike the traditional style. The location of windows, doors and domes were not matched purposely. It has two main entrances, one on the east and the other on the west. There are geometric shapes on the western wall which is covered with marble. The other sides that have façades are made of cut stone. The domes are designed with Iznik tiles revealing the characteristics of the Ottoman style. The columns inside the house of prayer are from earlier ruins in Ephesus.
